Back online

It's been a while.

When I moved, I made the request to move my phone line two months in advance. Unfortunately, due to a strike they didn't process my request until I called them. When I reached them, the phone company gave me an appointment for mid-September. This meant no phone and no internet (I used DSL) until then. When the appointment came around, nobody showed up, and my connection was further delayed until October. Frustrated, I switched to cable Internet and finally got online again last weekend. My phone also eventually came, so now everything seems to be back in order.

While I've been offline, I've noticed the blog spammers have reached me. I've turned on word verification for comments to stem the tide.

Watching the news these days seems more depressing then usual, it seems like there's been a bumper crop of natural disasters this year. I'm tired of watching various tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods.

But perhaps there's nothing more depressing then this: Fire destroys Wallace and Gromit treasures

Hello Kyle,

Greetings! I am in the process of emigrating, and am in a quandry between Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa. Vancouver seems expensive to me, Toronto more spoiled. I really wanted to know about Ottawa. I am an IT professional and does Ottawa have IT based jobs?
